Problem
Modern game news channels often flood readers with too much unnecessary information, making it hard to find what really matters. They can feel repetitive and cluttered with pop-ups and distractions designed to get clicks. v/one aims to cut through the noise by focusing on the most important gaming news in a clean, straightforward way.

Resources
The design process for V/ONE drew on a range of gaming news websites such as IGN, The Gamer, and Polygon for content and layout inspiration.
Codepen.io and Youtube were used to find inspiration for micro animations to keep the news interesting.

Josef Alber’s “Interaction of Color” was my primary source for when my project was still focused on learning color theory.
The Temperature Blanket was a big influence on my final project. The website generates a color palette based on the weather of a certain area. It’s what inspired me to link my project to the circadian rhythm and assigning shades of violet.
In the final outcome, the hero animation was created using a break down video by MotionXP.

01 UX & Structure
02 UX
& Structure
The user experience for V/ONE was built around clarity and speed. I mapped out a simple content hierarchy that prioritizes major headlines like release dates, updates, and announcements. Navigation is minimal and familiar, avoiding unnecessary complexity. The structure was designed to reduce friction—users land directly on the latest news with no pop-ups, side distractions, or unrelated recommendations, making it easy to stay informed without much effort.

02 Wireframes
I created wireframes early on to plan the site’s layout and user flow. This helped organize key elements like headlines, article previews, and navigation menus. The wireframes ensured a clean, straightforward design focused on making it easy for users to find and read important gaming news without distractions.

03 Testing & Iteration
I tested the site with users in class, gathering feedback on navigation, readability, and overall experience. Some users found certain sections unclear or overwhelming, so I simplified the layout and reduced visual clutter. This process helped make the site easier to use and more focused on delivering the news that matters.
The final project resulted in an interactive website that showcases 45 thoughtfully curated violet shades linked to the circadian rhythm. Users can easily explore and create personalized color palettes that resonate emotionally and visually. The design balances minimalism with expressive color use, encouraging reflection and connection through color. This project highlights violet’s potential as a versatile and meaningful design element.

The branding for V/ONE uses a primary palette of white and black to maintain simplicity and high contrast, enhancing legibility throughout the site. Accents of red are sparingly applied to highlight key elements and calls to action, adding energy without overwhelming the clean design.
